5 full days of tuition, working directly from the female model. Drawing
skills lie at the heart of all art and design. Learning to work
from the model is one of the best ways of developing those skills.
This course gives an introduction to looking, an appreciation of
marks, an understanding of space and scale, and an insight into
the language of drawing. The course is suitable for both beginners
and those with drawing experience.

A Sense of Place
Monday 16-Friday 20 October
Creating a sketchbook is a chance for you
to unlock your creativity. It is a vehicle for you to challenge yourself,
collect, record and process inspiration, try out new ideas, explore
succeed and failure, and take risks. It is a place where nothing is
precious. This five day workshop will help you source, research and
develop your ideas whilst being fun and exhilarating. There
will be walks and explorations, using the remote highland scenery
and the pretty Plockton gardens as points of resource.
A host of
different techniques and media will be demonstrated at the start
of each day so that students
can explore different types of drawing skills. At the end of the course
the outcome will be a big fat sketchbook filled with ideas, potential
and new confidence to feed the imagination and develop personal artwork.
Fees-£150 Open College of the Arts students. £175 non-Open
